Feature Story

My life and the journey to Montana

In the beginning..

My Journey started as a young child.. I had nightly trips zooming around the ceiling and then out over the house my parents bought the year I was born. Mom said it was nightmares. I will never forget the feeling of flying and seeing everything from above. The house, the LA Wash the Mulholland Hills, Topanga Canyon.. yes it was LA in the 50's. Years later finding out it was called OBE or out of body experience.. but as a child I just thought it was FUN! This is my mother, grandmother and great grandmother in 1955. A strong woman heritage.. not without it's problems.. but supportive and loving! Gratitude for a good start in life!

Film Production

In 1975 I started studies at Everett Community College.. my A.A. & A.S. are in Photography and Theater. Meeting so many mentors and so much hands on experience was my full immersion into my chosen future field.. Film Production.
1977 I went to Bozeman Montana to study Film and Television at Montana State University. There I graduated with a B.S. in Film and TV in 1980.
I returned to Seattle and started working at Alpha Cine Labs.. from there my first Commercial Production. I have worked in the Art Departments doing Wardrobe, Costume Design, Special Effects Make-Up, and Key Make-Up for Features, TV Movies, Commercials and Industrial Films. Over 1000 projects all over the Country for 20 years.
I designed and built the Costumes and applied the make up for the Rainier Beer Commercial Ads for many years.. this picture is from the R-Heads.. a send-up on the Cone Heads. Wildly creative and influential, Rainier marketing by Heckler, and Kaye-Smith Productions, Gary Noren, director.

Shaolin Kung Fu

Studies in Shaolin started in 1995 and for the next five years my life was fully taken over with this intense and physically challenging Martial Art. The Temple I went to in Seattle was run by SiGong Doug who was trained by a very important man who brought Shaolin here from Hawaii in the 60's his SiTiGong in San Francisco. It changed my life. I was on a search for Spiritual Training and what I got was Body, Mind and Spirit. It is the to Know to Do and to Dare.. that I found my true calling. The Shaolin in China was a University where parents sent their oldest sons to train as Monks.. in Art, Forms, Discipline and Spiritual enlightenment. It brought great honor to the Family to have a Monk within the walls of the Temple.. even if it meant they were lost forever to the line of decent. Shaolin means "young forest". For it is the ability of the young trees to bend in the storm and to give to the elements. This insures the trees survival. For us in combat or in life..we give way to energy, to be flexible, in order to live in harmony and resonance.

Himalayan Singing Bowl Therapy Training

It is with great honor that I am a part of Suren Shrestha's vision and mission to teach Singing Bowl Therapy in North American. Suren Shrestha was born in Nepal, about forty-five miles south-east of Mount Everest. He teaches us to practice ancient healing techniques using sound resonance and vibration.  I use these techniques every day to hone my skills in the Art of Healing Sound and bringing about this divine connection to the ALL.

Montana calls

It is early morning.. the birds are chirping the color of the sky is pale blue with rose streaked clouds. It is a Russell Chatham lithograph. And that is why I am in Montana. As it is the Big Sky.. it is the peace.. it is the Land.. Montana.. I am home.
